We will then bicycle into Thailand and start our 900 km ride to Bangkok. The following 16 pictures are from Jocelyn. What a great rig! And a great breakfast. Thanks Jocelyn. Dog day afternoon. We found Mexican food! Our cycling group out for a few beers. From the left Dino (New Zealand), Suzy (GB), Sebastien and Delphine (Switzerland), Jocelyn (U.S.), Chris (GB), Dea (Denmark), Adam (Australia). What a great group of new friends…and all with the same goal to explore the world. The roadside temples are fascinating. Front door artwork. A temple ceiling. Look at the head on that thing! A long dragon. Boats along the Mekong River. The tropical plants are so interesting. A Beer Lao break on our walk around the town. The fruit is simply great. Monks of all ages. An ice cream vendor parks right next to a school’s gate. Good business sense! Hey…our name is Rice! Carpenter monks building a fine structure. It is interesting that they are using power tools while most Lao people use hand tools. And what is funny is that right before I took this picture they all stopped and stared at a pretty girl in short shorts as she passed by them. I guess you can’t take the “male” out of a monk. After walking around Luang Prabang for a few days we decided to take a “tuk tuk” back to our guest house. Fun ride. Interesting inside door lock. A piece of wood to bar the door from the inside. The outside lock is a padlock.
