Saturday April 19, 2014, 55 miles (89 km) – Total so far: 2,021 miles (3,252 km)
April 18, 2014 30 miles At the border of Slovenia and Croatia the Slovenia border guard looked for a Spanish entry stamp into Europe (we told him we entered Europe in Spain) as he said tourists are only allowed 3 months once they enter Europe. I had never heard that before and he was quite frustrated that Spain never stamped us in and neither did France, Italy or Slovenia. So he returned our passports and said, “Go.” We were then stamped in by the Croatia guard. So I guess our 3 months start now! Let the roller coaster ride begin as it was up and down with absolutely no flat areas. We have never cycled like this so it was challenging at first but soon it was fun. It certainly slowed down. Towards sunset we found a nice campground.
April 19, 2014 25 miles Back on the roller coaster we soon got into a good rhythm. Then the rain started. We found a pizzeria for a late lunch that happened to have a hotel so we decided to break early and were given two rooms, one for us and one free room for our bikes. We certainly like the currency, Kuna, as travelling is now a lot cheaper.
