A nice country ride in Romania

Monday May 12, 2014, 60 miles (97 km) – Total so far: 2,694 miles (4,336 km)

May 12, 2014 60 miles A storm swept through last night and left a very windy and wet morning. The forecast for tomorrow wasn’t very good so we decided to ride. Our goal was Bechet where there is a ferry for a return to Bulgaria. We really wanted to visit Transylvania and the castles there but it would take a week of riding. We looked at maybe storing our bikes at a local warmshowers host and taking a train or bus but it just didn’t work out. Family is meeting us in Istanbul towards the end of May so we will head south.

The ride was wet but fun as we rode through the countryside and many villages. All the people were very friendly and waved. In Bechet we found a very new hostel. Tomorrow it is back to Bulgaria.

  1. Marty told me how much he enjoys reading about this trip. He is the one to understand Jocelyn and her desire to ride hard and keep in shape. She is tougher on herself than anyone I know. Okay, this was a good view of Romania….and I am sorry you did not make it to Transylvania. The river looks murky but I know there is more to see as you head east. Love always, Andee

  2. Thanks for writing Marty and for your blessing. Still going strong. Back to Bulgaria today.
