We have been waiting for almost two weeks now. The first week was a Chinese holiday so no visa work was accomplished. The Bishkek consulate reopened for business on the 9th and we were required to register with Kyrgyzstan immigration before they would process our visa. The latest date we received today is this Friday the 17th, Jocelyn’s birthday. We had hoped to celebrate in China.
She has been on meds for almost two weeks now and is much better. My illness recurred and I am slowing getting over that. We probably won’t get better until we are home so we will proceed with China and SE Asia as best we can.

A washing machine too!Since we have the opportunity to cook we had an early Thanksgiving meal with a rotisserie chicken cooked on the street, mashed taters and carrots along with a fine bottle of Moldova wine. Moldova is between Romania and the Ukraine.The Kyrgyzstan carrots are the best we have ever tasted including delicious yellow ones.In the evenings we watch tv including episodes of Walking Dead, Raising Hope, and Pawn Stars.I answered a door knock the other day and was presented with this bill (I think). After the lady went on and on in Russian even though I kept saying “American” I found our rental contract and gave it to her. She called the rental agency and handed me back the contract and said, “Spasibo” which is thank you in Russian. We still have electric and water so I guess we are good.We don’t like meat, except for an occasional chicken, so we have been cooking lots and lots of carrot and potato soup.The view from our 4th floor.From one tripping hazard to another.
