A walking tour of Old Quebec.

Yesterday when we checked into the Motel Levis in Levis, Quebec a bicycle touring couple from Delaware checked in after us. We quickly shared our stories. Chip and Nancy were here to start another one week tour of this area. They have bicycle toured here several other times along with other parts of the world. Nancy invited us to share dinner with them so they drove us to a microbrewery down on the waterfront of the St. Lawrence River. What a nice evening enjoying the local brews and food along with new friends.

This morning we gave them a sendoff then Chip drove us to the Quebec ferry for our ride to Old Quebec. We had a nice day exploring by foot all the history of this area. Thanks to all our friends that recommended we take a day off here to see Quebec.

When we returned by taxi to our motel room there was a letter from the Motel Levis saying that we were their guests for the night and that they refunded tonight’s fee. What a nice surprise! This motel is a “Bienvenue Cyclistes” place where cyclists are very welcomed and catered to. There is a shed in the back where bikes are locked up and tools available. They are also storing Chip and Nancy’s car while they are on their bike tour. What a nice treat! Thank you Jean-Yves.

  1. Finally able to write a comment! This is a beautiful city and I hope to enjoy a walking tour some day! Thanks for sharing the many pictures from your challenging days riding in weather and traffic! Okay, enjoy the cooler weather and we wish you the best of those final Canadian days! Eh!

  2. Finally able to get on line. Been following your travels across Canada with the bees, bugs and rain. Judy stayed at the Hotel Frontenac many years ago when she was at UCONN and her and a girlfriend took a trip to Quebec. She thought it might have cost about $14 then. LOL! Enjoy the rest of your trip.

  4. Thank you very much Al. Hi to Lou and all. We still have quite a ways to Cape Canaveral and looking forward to it.

  5. Amazing! What a treat that you two were guests of the hotel. We think of you often and are wishing you happy travels and lots of adventures every day.
