Our first day in Thailand

Sunday December 7, 2014

Pictures say it all.

Thailand our 25th country achieved! We went to the old ferry border crossing for this picture. This access is only allowed for Thais and Lao now. We had to ride a bus across the Friendship Bridge for our crossing yesterday evening.

We toured the town of Chiang Khong, Thailand this morning. We wobble so much without a load on our bikes. On the right is the Mekong River and Laos.

Alan Bate cycled around the world in 106 days. Not something we would do but an interesting way to travel the world nonetheless. He used to race internationally and has quite a museum of bicycles along with posters, gear, and such.

  1. Hello! I thought I left a comment about the food and touring pictures. I guess I had to exit before it posted. We have had some unusal weather lately. Today it was cool and wind from the north. That was nice for a change, then it got warmer! I am waiting for you to start the first fire! It looks lovely in Thailand! Enjoy this final month in Asia! Love always, Andee
