Our new friend Jesse and us took another day off to explore the surrounding area by boat and walking. This is a really special place in Guatemala. Jesse is backpacking down to Argentina.

Tomorrow we continue riding through Guatemala.

We are north of the word (state) Peten. We will drop down Guatemala and ride into Honduras to visit my niece and Jocelyn's cousin Kate.

Cortes left his horse with the Mayans. The horse died because they didn't know what to feed it. In fear of Cortes they made an "iron Horse" and presented it to him when he returned. Iron horse because of the armor.

A few days ago we met Roy, one of the nicest people we have met so far. He recommended many places to explore and eat and we took him up on that. Here he is with his friend Elma from Sarasota, Florida, our home state. Super nice people.
